DAN Introduces Continuing Education for Dive Professionals

This free program focuses on risk mitigation and is now available to all dive professionals via DAN E-Learning. DAN expects this program will not only enhance divers’ safety but will also help reduce dive operators’ liability risk.

To encourage participation, DAN is offering discounted premiums on individual professional liability and group professional liability insurance to all DAN members who complete the e-learning, which can be done in about an hour. 

SDI introduces new scuba instructor certification

This certification aims to recognise dedicated SDI Instructors and provide new professionals with a clear milestone to strive for.

One key objective is to acknowledge the accomplishments of SDI Instructors while encouraging the growth of the next generation of diving professionals. This rating celebrates their achievements and is designed for active SDI instructors committed to producing skilled divers.

BSAC launches Advanced Ocean Diver course

Advanced Ocean Diver (AOD) is an optional course that gives new divers more choice and flexibility as they progress with their training.

The course is open to all Ocean Divers (or divers who have an equivalent certification from another recognised diver training agency and have also completed Nitrox training) aged 14 and over.

Outline

The Advanced Ocean Diver course includes four theory sessions, which can be completed either via eLearning or in person with an instructor, giving flexibility for students and instructors.

NAUI Mixed Gas & Oxygen Service Technician

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered competent to prepare oxygen-enriched air and helium-based breathing gases without direct supervision for use by divers, provided that the equipment used is the same or approximates that used in training; and to prepare scuba equipment for oxygen service, provided that they have been authorized by the manufacturer for servicing the particular brand of equipment being placed into oxygen service.
